Jesse Cervantez is the visionary behind Drop the Mic Beauty, dedicated to celebrating individuality through beauty and photography. With over a decade of experience in the beauty and performing arts community, Jesse brings a unique blend of creativity, passion, and expertise to every project.
Jesse’s journey began at Sam Houston State University, where he pursued a BFA in Dance and was instrumental in creating the university’s first LGBTQIA+ fraternity, providing a safe space for students to grow and connect. His passion for performance led him to become a member of the XTE Dance Fraternity, where he gave back to various charities, and he performed as a soloist under the renowned Dana Nicolay, Dean of Arts.
In 2012, Jesse founded a Burlesque troupe in Austin, TX, which grew to 15 members and traveled extensively, performing the art of tease. Throughout this period, he wore many hats: drag performer, model coach, creative set designer, production manager, makeup artist, and hairstylist.
In addition to his artistic achievements, Jesse climbed the corporate ladder to become a Learning and Development Manager in the IT industry. This role allowed him to develop his skills in leadership, training, and team development.
In 2021, Jesse embarked on a new chapter, relocating to Chicago to pursue photography as an art form that uplifts and empowers others. Drop the Mic Beauty is the culmination of Jesse’s years of performance, creativity, and passion for helping people celebrate their beauty inside and out.

Jesse not only has a love for all types of art but also has a passion for lifting up the LGBTQIA+ community and donating his time to charity in anyway possible. His last project was working with Local Austin Independent school district in 2021, to present in Drag and recorded a video of himself reading to the elementary students across AISD to celebrate pride week and its diversity. While still going though covid-19 restrictions.
2019 - 2017 Jesse served on a board for a large annual charity Art auction as event coordinator and entertainment performance/management. In 2019 with in a 3 Hour event, Art Erotica raised the highest amount of donations to date, with 95 Thousand dollars donated to Vivent Health, Previously known as Aids Services of Austin.
